Spanish rider Jorge Martín took control of the Thai Grand Prix, while the second-place rider in the overall standings closed the gap to the leader, Francesco Bagnaia, to just 13 points with his fourth victory of the season. Initially, the Italian frontrunner in the World Championship finished in third place, but he advanced to the second spot after Brad Binder received a penalty. Binder, the South African rider, was penalized for violating track limits, which led to him losing one position.
